Banana Nut Energy Balls

Nutsóla makes do-it-yourself bar-making kits! I tried to make the bars, but they kept falling apart, so to salvage them I created an energy ball recipe on the spot. I thought almond butter would make them stick together, but that didn’t work, so then I blended up some dates and rolled the mixture into balls. That did the trick! The dates were sticky and served as the perfect binder for my energy balls!

Their mix can also be used as a topping for yogurt, oatmeal, or even salads. These are low-sodium and have a little fiber and protein boost. They’re very allergen-friendly too: dairy/gluten/soy/grain-free and vegan!

I love having an energy ball or two as a pre-workout snack. When I wake up, I’m usually not that hungry, and I don’t like eating a lot before working out, so these are perfect to get my metabolism going without weighing me down.
